Melaka, 18 Jan 2022 – ISRA Consulting, INCEIF’s consulting subsidiary, is looking into the possibility of supporting the green and sustainable initiatives by the Melaka State Government, specifically funding options under Islamic Green financing.
As Green Finance gains momentum globally, within the Malaysian financial industry, Islamic finance industry is showing leadership in creating a positive impact to the economy, people and the environment by delivering the intended outcomes of Shariah through practices, conduct and offerings that generate positive and sustainable impact to the economy, community and environment.
ISRA Consulting CEO Prof Dr Ashraf Md Hashim today led a visit by the team to Melaka’s Treasury Department to share knowledge on Islamic Green financing and exchange ideas on making meaningful impact on green and sustainable initiatives through policy change and financial tools.
The team was met by Datuk Salhah Salleh, Timbalan Setiausaha Kerajaan (Pembangunan) Melaka and Mr Nasri Saring, Investment Officer at Melaka’s Treasury Department. They were joined by International Green Training Centre CEO Hj Ismail Abdullah.
Beginning in the last decade, Melaka has made great strides toward building a sustainable, green city. The state houses a 7,248ha Melaka World Solar Valley seeks to power most of the daily activities of manufacturers, housing developers, farmers, and other stakeholders. About 100,000 LED street lamps are installed along the Alor Gajah–Central Melaka–Jasin (AMJ) highway, which improved road safety and reduced carbon dioxide emissions.
