ISRA & ISRA Consulting Acknowledged As Best In Their Fields

Kuala Lumpur 20 Aug – International Shari’ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA), INCEIF’s research management centre, was awarded the “Best Research House” and ISRA Consulting, INCEIF’s fully owned consulting subsidiary, was awarded the “Best Consulting Service” by The Asset Triple A Islamic Finance Awards 2021.

The Hong Kong-based The Asset is a widely recognised business news and research organisation.

This award represents one of the most prestigious awards in the Islamic finance industry and it recognises the best Islamic banks, best research houses, best rating agencies as well as the deals that defined the industry during the review period. The award adopts a rigorous approach in selecting the best Islamic institutions in various countries through using point scores for both quantitative and qualitative factors to determine the winners.

It is worth mentioning that ISRA has won the Best Islamic Research Firm award numerous times from many international organisations since 2010. The awards highlight ISRA’s increasing dominance in the research space, and its active developing activities in making a real contribution to industry knowledge.” Worthy of mention is that ISRA has over 200 Shari’ah research and publications that consist of textbooks, journals and research papers that are constantly referred internationally.

ISRA Executive Director Prof Dr Mohamad Akram Laldin said: “The strength of ISRA lies in the unique blend of expertise of its respected researchers who are prominent international Shari’ah scholars and industry experts. Besides that, ISRA regularly collaborates with many leading local and international organisations in the development of new products and instruments. For instance, currently, ISRA is involved in many international projects, notably, the assessment of UNHCR’s zakat collection and distribution mechanism, and its potential in the Asia Pacific region.

ISRA Consulting, which has prepared Islamic finance related acts and guidelines for a number of countries and central banks and conducted Shariah review and audit exercise, has won the “Best Consulting” award three years in a row. It has also received the IFN award in similar category in 2019 and 2020.
