21 Aug, 2015, Kuala Lumpur : A total of 25 staff from the National Bank of Kazakhstan successfully completed a five-day short course on Islamic finance, ‘Connecting The Dots’, on campus today.
Team leader, Ms Gulnara Abdikadirova who is Deputy Director at Kazakhstan’s central bank, was joined by 24 others who are currently pursuing the Masters Programme of The National Bank of Kazakhstan which is conducted at New Economic University in Almaty. The course, which briefly covered the foundation of Islamic finance and the current developments in the industry, gave participants a quick study of the industry. Currently, Kazakhstan is leading the way for Islamic finance in the Central Asian region with increasing interest for the products and services in the country. Centre for Consultancy and Executive Programmes Director Prof Saiful Rosly Azhar was the main trainer for the course.
At the close of the course, INCEIF President & CEO Daud Vicary Abdullah said INCEIF was honoured to be partnering with the National Bank of Kazakhstan on the short course. Hopefully, the partnership would continue with more training and knowledge sharing sessions planned between the two parties in the near future.
Deputy President Academic Datuk Prof Syed Othman Alhabshi, who was also present at the closing ceremony, gave away certificates to the participants.
