Bank Negara Malaysia Governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz today launches a book edited by INCEIF Adjunct Professors Prof Datuk Dr Rifaat Ahmed Abdel Karim and Prof Simon Archer. The book is the second edition of` Islamic Finance The New Regulatory Challenge’.
INCEIF President & CEO Mr Daud Vicary Abdullah is one of contributing authors of the book and wrote a chapter on `Transparency and Market Discipline: Post-Basel Pillar 3’. Other contributing authors include International Shari’ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance Executive Director Dr Mohamad Akram Laldin and Securities Commission Deputy Chief Executive Dato Dr Nik Ramlah Mahmood.
Governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti wrote in the book’s foreword that this second edition of the book addresses the implications of the recent global financial crisis on the regulation of Islamic financial services. The book, which dealt with the relevant regulatory issues in a timely manner, would be much welcomed by both practitioners and academics.
The book launch was attended by 100 people including several industry players and INCEIF faculty members and students.
