A group of officials from the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan today paid a visit to INCEIF to find out first-hand about INCEIF, its programmes and facilities. On hand to meet them were INCEIF Chief Academic Officer Datuk Prof Dr Syed Othman Alhabshi and Head of Graduate Studies Prof Dr Obiyathulla Ismath Bacha.

The four-member group was headed by Mr Jawed Hussain, Registrar, Head of Modarabas (Islamic Financial Institutions). Others were Mr. Naseeruddin Humayun, Director, Investors Education; Mr. Imran Hussain, Joint Director, Specialised Companies Division; and Mr. Tariq Naseem, Deputy Director Securities Market Division. Mr Tariq was formerly a student of INCEIF where he pursued the Chartered Islamic Finance Professional programme.
The visit to INCEIF was part of a study tour undertaken by the Pakistanis to learn about Malaysia’s success in developing the Islamic finance industry. At INCEIF, they wanted to learn about human capital development and the possible opportunities for training and studies on Islamic finance.
