INCEIF at Central Bank of Oman workshop

Muscat, Oman: INCEIF President & CEO Mr Daud Vicary Abdullah today delivered a keynote address at a workshop on Islamic finance, organised by the Central Bank Oman (CBO).
The workshop, from Jan 27-30, is organised by CBO in collaboration with Bank Negara Malaysia and Islamic Development Bank. INCEIF’s participation is another affirmation of its role as a knowledge leader in Islamic finance by providing an overview of key focus areas of growth within the Islamic finance industry.
The workshop is part of efforts undertaken by CBO to train its staff and develop their scientific and practical capabilities and competencies through sharing of knowledge, skills and experiences in the field of Islamic finance. The workshop covered various facets of Islamic finance, such as principles of Islamic finance, Sharia governance structure, risk and liquidity management in Islamic financial institutions, features of Islamic banking products, regulatory, supervisory and accounting frameworks for Islamic finance.
In his keynote during a session on `Global Developments in Islamic Finance’, Mr Daud spoke on the Malaysian experience in developing its Islamic finance industry, the future of the industry globally and INCEIF’s role in human capital development for the industry. He also touched on Shariah matters as practiced in Islamic finance.
