INCEIF today received a delegation from Thailand who are in Kuala Lumpur to learn more about Malaysia’s success in developing a sustainable Islamic finance system. The 18 delegates include officials from the country’s Revenue Department from the Ministry of Finance, Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Islamic Bank of Thailand.

The delegation, led by Ms Kruaonn Tontyaporn of the Securities and Exchange Commission, were briefed on INCEIF by President & CEO Mr Daud Vicary Abdullah. They specifically wanted to learn about INCEIF’s efforts in developing human capital for the global Islamic finance industry.
During their three days in Kuala Lumpur, which started on Monday 26 Nov, the Thais were also at Bank Negara Malaysia and the Islamic Finance Services Board to learn from Malaysia’s experience in the integration of Islamic finance banking in the dual banking system and its regulatory framework, Islamic capital market and the creation of taxation scheme for Islamic finance.
