INCEIF receives RM55,000 from BTMU

INCEIF today received a RM55,000 donation from Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (Malaysia) Bhd. A mock cheque for the amount was handed to INCEIF President & CEO Mr Daud Vicary Abdullah by the bank’s President/CEO Mr Masato Nakamura at the bank’s 55th Anniversary celebration dinner in Kuala Lumpur. The dinner was also attended by Bank Negara Malaysia Governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz and Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Mukhriz Tun Mahathir.

The donation will be channelled to deserving INCEIF students in the form of financial aid. This is the second donation from the bank following its first in 2007.

In July 2010, INCEIF was accorded the “Project of National Interest” (Projek Berkepentingan Negara) status in recognition of its role in the development of the human capital for Malaysia’s growing Islamic finance industry. The status is granted retrospectively from 2007 to 2016, and allows organisations and individuals who donate funds to INCEIF to offset their contributions through tax deductions. Organisations which have contributed to INCEIF include Maybank Islamic, Etiqa Takaful, Bank Islam Malaysia, CIMB Islamic Bank, EONCAP Islamic Bank and Affin Islamic Bank.
