Students, staff, ACIFP members and industry practitioners were treated to a talk by Mr. Zaid Hamzah today on ‘Islamic Intellectual Property-Based Financing’. Approximately 40 people attended the talk held at the Lecture Hall.

Mr. Zaid Hamzah briefed audiences on how intellectual property can play a key part in driving financial value. He further reiterated that intellectual property has emerged as a valuable asset class in financial market. His talk also provided an overview of the investment banking and corporate finance strategies, techniques and practices to monetise intellectual property.
Mr. Zaid Hamzah has over 25 years of professional experience in intellectual property commercial transactions, technology and media in Southeast Asia. He has also authored 7 books including one on “Intellectual Property Law and Strategy”. Zaid has recently completed a book entitled “Islamic Private Equity and Venture Capital: Principles and Practice” which was commissioned by the Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM).
