To extend its reach to the East Coast, INCEIF recently took part in the East Coast Education Exhibition held in Kuala Terengganu (14 July to 16 July) and Kota Bahru (28 July to 30 July). Apart from the exhibition, previews on INCEIF programmes and talks on Islamic Finance were also held in both venues which were co-organised with Bank Negara Malaysia Kuala Terengganu and the Association of Banks in Malaysia (ABM).

At the exhibition in Kuala Terengganu and Kota Bahru, members of the public had the chance to find out more about INCEIF and the programmes offered when they visited the INCEIF booth. Although INCEIF has been in existence for over 5 years, the concentration of local students have been in the Klang Valley. From the visitors’ feedbacks, there is a growing interest in Islamic finance postgraduate studies in Terengganu and Kelantan respectively.
In Kuala Terengganu, INCEIF and BNM Kuala Terengganu co-organised a preview on INCEIF programmes with one of our faculty members, Mr Ezamshah Ismail of the Takaful & Wealth Planning Department who presented a talk on “Islamic Wealth Planning”. The audience included representatives from banks and takaful companies.
In Kota Bahru, another faculty member, Dr Mohd Pisal Zainal of Banking Department, spoke on “Islamic Finance: What does the USD1 trillion industry means to us?” during a preview at Grand River View Hotel. The preview was co-organised with ABM Kelantan who was headed by Mr Che Hassan Che Muhammad, Head, Zone Kelantan, Maybank. Representatives from Affin Bank, Ambank and Bank Islam Malaysia were joined by lecturers from University Malaysia Kelantan and University Technology MARA Kota Bahru Campus.
