INCEIF today receives a RM1 million donation from Great Eastern Holdings. The donation, the largest received to date since INCEIF’s inception in 2006, will be channeled to Dana Khas INCEIF. The special fund was set up in June this year to receive contributions for scholarship, research and development activities at INCEIF and the research arm,  International Shariah Research Academy for Islamic Finance Fund (ISRA).

INCEIF President & CEO Dato’ Agil Natt received a mock cheque for the donation from Great Eastern Holdings chairman Ms Fang Ai Lian  at a ceremony witnessed by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom and Great Eastern Takaful Sdn Bhd chairman Datuk Kamaruddin Taib.
Dato’ Agil said : “INCEIF is grateful for the donation as it will certainly contributes towards our efforts in providing financial assistance to deserving students as well as our research activities. As a university set up by Bank Negara Malaysia to focus on providing human capital for the financial services industry, INCEIF truly appreciates the support from the industry and today in particular, the Great Eastern group.”
The Dana Khas INCEIF is one of the very few funds in the country which has been accorded with the special status of “Project of National Interest” by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Mohd Najib Abdul Razak in his capacity as the Minister of Finance. With this status, organisations and individuals who contribute cash to INCEIF is eligible to claim for tax deduction in respect of their contributions.
