INCEIF welcomed Mr Jon Song, Lloyd’s of London (Asia) Pte. Ltd Associate Director who paid a courtesy call to INCEIF whilst in Kuala Lumpur to attend the Global Islamic Finance Forum.
INCEIF’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Agil Natt delivered a presentation on Islamic finance and INCEIF, including the Certified Islamic Finance Professional (CIFP) Professional.
In his presentation, he explained that the assets of Islamic banks were estimated at more than US5 billion and financial investments of above US0 billion. Quoting the Standard & Poors, Agil said the estimated potential market for Islamic financial services to be US trillion in the next few years.
Agil also mentioned on the role of INCEIF in the development of the Islamic finance professional, elaborating on the importance of the CIFP programme.
“The CIFP is not a Malaysian certification but a global one, instead,” he stressed, pointing out that INCEIF had started to collaborate with other central banks to ensure the recognition from the other parts of the world.
Song acknowledged the informative presentation, saying that he had learnt a lot, especially on the importance of developing the human capital in Islamic finance.
