Iftar With The Less Fortunate On Campus

Kuala Lumpur, 30 May 2019 – In keeping with the spirit of Ramadan, INCEIF and ISRA staff treated 86 special guests to an Iftar spread on campus today. The guests were 45 underprivileged adults and 25 children from Masyarakat Orang Asal community in Serendah, Selangor, and 20 refugees from Afghanistan, Algeria, Palestine, Somalia and Yemen who now made Malaysia their home. The Iftar was joined by INCEIF students and alumni.

On hand to serve the food for the Iftar were INCEIF President & CEO Prof Dato Dr Azmi Omar, Deputy President Operations Dr Malini Eliatamby, Deputy President Academic Prof Dr Mansor Ibrahim and ISRA Executive Director Prof Dr Akram Laldin. The senior management also handed food hampers, duit raya and prayer rugs to the special guests.

The main objective for organising this annual charity Iftar is to bring festive cheer to the disadvantaged, in line with the Islamic teachings of caring, sacrifice and sympathy to the less fortunate. The bulk of the contributions, money and items, were generously donated by the staff, students and alumni.
