In line with INCEIF's objectives of being the global leader in Islamic finance, INCEIF has formulated the PhD programmes with the objectives of :
- producing scholars of international standing in Islamic finance,
- further developing and enhancing the theory and practice of Islamic finance,
- meeting the demand for experts in Islamic financial services industry.
INCEIF's PhD programmes are structured to allow candidates to develop the technical and intellectual ability to enable them to pursue doctoral research across a broad range of areas in Islamic finance. The PhD by Coursework and Dissertation is designed for candidates who will benefit from exposure to Islamic finance and are interested in pursuing research in Islamic finance. The PhD by Research is designed for candidates with industry exposures and experiences.
A Stimulating Research Environment...
PhD candidates benefit from access to a wide range of courses and seminars. They also benefit from INCEIF's close relationship with Central Bank of Malaysia (Bank Negara Malaysia) and Islamic financial institutions locally and internationally. The University also has a close relationship with local and international universities.
PhD candidates are encouraged, at an early stage in their programme, to participate in local and international workshops and colloquia. Candidates are encouraged to present their work at, or attend, conferences relevant to their area of research. Candidates are also offered the opportunity to gain teaching experience, with appropriate training, in a way that is complementary to their research.
