Admission Requirements

  • PhD by Coursework and Dissertation
    • Masters degree from a recognised university;
  • PhD by Research
    • Masters degree from a recognised university and 5 years working experience in financial institutions;
    • Must submit a research proposal, not exceeding 10 pages, font: Arial size 12, double-space
  • English proficiency:
    • IELTS - Achieved band 6; or
    • TOEFL - Achieved a total of 550 for paper-based or 213 for computer-based examination; or
    • MUET - Achieved band 4; or
    • Exceptions from English Language competency can be given to those whose medium of study at entry level is ENGLISH.

Tuition Fees*
The fee for candidates entering the PhD in Finance in 2011 is RM32,000 for both local and international candidates. Fees include tuition and support facilities for the entire PhD programme. The fee does not include or cover living expenses, which will vary according to your individual circumstances and lifestyle.

Applications
Applications may be submitted anytime during the year. Applications would only be processed by the Department after receipt of complete application materials consisting of the following:

  • Processing fee of RM50 (Malaysian candidates) and USD20 (International candidates), made payable to INCEIF;
  • Copies of transcripts and/or degrees (scanned copies are acceptable) ;
  • Research proposal (where relevant); and
  • Evidence of English proficiency.

Successful candidates will be offered admission for the next available semester.

Application for the September semester must be submitted by 31 May of the preceding year.
Application for the January semester must be submitted by 30 September of each year.

Financial Aids
Limited number of financial aids are available to qualified candidates in the forms of graduate assistantship or fee waiver.
