The unprecedented growth in Islamic finance has put increasing pressure on the supply of high quality human capital. This constraint is impacting both the business of today, and the impetus to drive the industry into the future. With the continuing growth of Islamic Finance in the GCC, Indonesia, Africa and the increasing interest in Europe and North America, there is an even more pressing need to develop the right skills and competencies on a global scale.
INCEIF is the acronym for International Centre For Education In Islamic Finance. It was set up by Bank Negara Malaysia (Central Bank of Malaysia) in December 2005 to meet this global demand. The university was established as part of the Malaysian Government's initiative to further strengthen the country’s position as an international Islamic finance centre. It is the only university in the world that is wholly dedicated to postgraduate study in Islamic Finance.
